Woodworking brings together the thrill of creating with the sensuality of wood. As we explore the rich traditions and vast stylistic range of this art we can deeply experience the beauty of trees and the magic they hold within their bark exteriors. Woodworking becomes a conversation between the artist and the tree, and the art we produce echoes the shapes and textures of nature, the life of the tree, and the spirit of the maker. At the Arts Center we work with hand and electrical tools and offer workshops in chip carving, wood sculpture, musical instrument making, carpentry, lathe turning and furniture building.
